Saint Laurent first designed the Manhattan shoulder bag with only a top handle, but in recent years they have added a detachable strap so it can be worn as a cross-body bag or a shoulder bag. The strap can be adjusted for comfort and also boasts an elegant metal hardware buckle which adds a nice classy feel to the bag.
The metal hardware on the YSL Manhattan bag comes in gold-tone, bronze-tone and silver-tone, depending on the material and colour of the bag. The bag features compression tabs on the sides of the bag and a leather strap with a metal clip buckle closure over a front flap.
Unlike most other Saint Laurent bags, the Manhattan doesn’t feature the interlaced YSL logo anywhere on the bag, but instead has a small ‘Saint Laurent Paris’ engraved on the front of the clasp. This makes the Manhattan one of the more subtle designs made by the French fashion house, and could be the perfect fit for someone looking for an everyday designer bag which is not too in-your-face.
The interior of the Manhattan bag is either lined with leather or grosgrain material – both of which are very easy to clean. There is a main compartment, one zip pocket and one flat pocket which is handy for keeping your cards and some cash separate from you other belongings.
