Will the Cleo Bag be Prada’s Latest It Bag?

There’s no doubt that Prada have had a very successful year. Over the last 12 months, there has been a huge buzz around the Re-Edition collection which included the popular 2000, 2005 and 2006 bags. They have also recently released their Re-Nylon collection which is both on-trend and kind to the environment. This season, however, Prada seem to have stepped away from the nylon and have launched a leather bag which is already causing quite the stir – the Cleo bag.

The Cleo bag made its first appearance on the runway during Prada’s 2021 Spring / Summer fashion show. Following that, it quickly made it to the arms of trend-setting celebrities and fashion influencers alike.

Prada describe this bag as having a “sophisticated allure” with a design that re-interprets an iconic bag of theirs from the 1990s. It is a shoulder bag with a rounded bottom and is quite similar to the Prada Re-Edition 2000 Nylon bag when it comes to shape.

Prada Cleo Bag Styles

The Prada Cleo bag is available in two different versions – one with a flap and one without. Both styles close with a magnetic snap and feature the Prada triangle logo on the front. The flap version is slightly smaller, measuring at 15.5 cm x 22 cm x 4 cm. On the other hand, the standard size is 22 cm x 27 cm x 6 cm.

Prada Cleo Bag Price

The two styles of the Cleo bag are priced differently, with the flap bag costing more despite it being smaller in size. The standard Cleo bag has been released at a retail price of $1,990 while the flap version costs $2,350.
