Made of quilted lambskin leather, the Icare bag has a main compartment and comes with a removable zipped pouch. The front is decorated with Saint Laurent’s signature interlaced YSL logo, which comes in bronze-toned metal hardware.

Larger than the popular YSL Rive Gauche Tote, the Icare Maxi measures 58 cm x 43 cm x 8 cm. Due to its soft, flexible material, it can be transformed into a narrower bag (38 cm) by closing in its sides, thanks to a detachable metal chain toggle closure.
Despite its size, many users say that even though it’s large, it hugs the body, so it’s much more comfortable than all those boxy totes out there. However, some petite users may find it overwhelming.

When it launched in 2022, the Saint Laurent Icare bag was priced at $4,400 / €3,500 / £3,150. Three years later, it has seen a significant price increase, now retailing at $4,900 / €4,100 / £3,755 as of March 2025.
Other Icare Variants
At launch in 2022, the Icare was only available in a black quilted lambskin version. As the bag became more popular, Saint Laurent introduced a beige Nubuck suede version featuring a lighter hue and soft texture. This variation is priced at $5,600.
